Profits Group provided for simultaneous and consecutive service into English, French, German, Russian and Japanese as well as tecnichal equipment on the occasion of the G8 Justice and Home Affairs Ministers' Meeting, hosted in Rome and chaired by Justice Minister Angelino Alfano and by Interior Minister Roberto Maroni, from 28 to 30 May. The meeting was attended by the sixteen G8 ministers and by their guests, namely European Commissioner Jacques Barrot, Interpol Secretary General Ronald Noble, UNODC (United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime) Executive Director Antonio Maria Costa and UNICRI (United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute) Director Sandro Calvani, as well as by the interior and justice ministers of the Czech Republic, which currently holds the European Union duty presidency. The meeting ended with an agreement for a world collaboration thanks to a final declaration divided into six big chapters: COUNTERTERRORISM, TRANSNATIONAL ORGANIZED CRIME, CHILD PORNOGRAPHY, CYBERCRIME AND CYBERSECURITY, HUMAN TRAFFICKING, ILLEGAL MIGRATION, INTEGRATION OF LEGAL MIGRANTS, URBAN SECURITY. |

Profits Group has managed the interpreting service on the occasion of the “G8 Environment” held in Siracusa from April 22nd/ 24th with the G8+ mechanism. The major topics on top of the agenda of the Ministers of the Environment were countering climate changes and the protection of biodiversity. With the Carta di Siracusa (24 actions and 5 proposals) signed “G8 Environment”, the G8 ministers together with the Ministers of Australia, Brasil, China, Czeck Republic, Egypt , India, Indonesia, Mexico, Republic of Korea, South Africa, Sweden as well as the International organisations decided to protect biodiversity focusing on climate, economy, ecosystems, science and research. The meeting held in Siracusa aimed at conveying an outstanding political message on biodiversity and easing the dialogue regarding climate changes in view of the Conference of Copenhagen, in December, which will have to define the global strategy for the post-Kyoto era. |

The EMSAGG 2009 conference has contributed to the dissemination of information and has encouraged the Exchange of ideas by means of the variuos disciplines pertaining to the management of marine sand and gravel. |

Profits Group, in collaboration with Gruppo Meet, provided the interpreting and technical services on the occasion of the “World Energy Outlook 2008: Impact of the Financial Crisis on the Energy Sector” held in Rome on March 19th 2009 in Rome. According to the results coming from the Report issued by the International Energy Agency - World Energy Outlook 2008 – the meeting has represented a kind of debate on the present financial situation coupled with the issues to be faced by the energy sector. The World Energy Outlook 2008 reinforced the notion that the future wellbeing of mankind depends upon our ability to face the two major Energy challenges of this century: guaranteeing reliable energy supplies at accessible costs, employing low carbon technologies to considerably reduce the emissions of greenhouse gases. |
